Vera Way Marghab successfully ran Marghab Linens for nearly fifty years, returning to her native South Dakota in 1984. The South Dakota Art Museum in Brookings holds the largest collection of Marghab Linens. GFWC South Dakota clubwomen believed it was important to have an art center to house and exhibit the works of Harvey Dunn, a native South Dakota artist. Their planning, campaigning, and fundraising that began in the late 1950s resulted in the South Dakota Art Museum opening in 1970.
