GFWC International President pin
Inscription on back reads: Helen Chapman, 1954-1956.
In 1920 Alice Ames Winter (1920-1924) felt the rising sun on the original pin was not a proper symbol for a mature organization. A new design was adopted that shows a shield, signifying enlightenment, emerging from a black background. In the center is a fully risen sun, represented by a star, on a blue field. The national colors red, white, and blue are surrounded by the GFWC motto.
Chapman, Helen Busch
