Series of photographs taken during the reception celebrating the centennial of the Nelson A. Miles Mansion, 1734 N Street NW, Washington, D.C. GFWC purchased the mansion in 1922 to serve as the Federation's international headquarters. The event was held on December 11, 1975, during the presidency of Mary Katharine Barnes Miller, thirtieth international president of the General Federation of Women's Clubs, 1974-1976.
During the reception, Doris Stowe of Colonial Beach, Virginia, presented Miller with a lace bonnet once owned by Lucretia Mott . The bonnet is also shown housed in the display cabinet donated to GFWC Headquarters in Miller's honor by her home state federation, the West Virginia Federation of Women's Clubs.
Miller is shown with several guests, including Mrs. Le Van Khoa, treasurer, Vietnamese Good Will Women's Association, and her daughter Mrs. Kim Cook; and Margaret Adams, Good Housekeeping Magazine's senior editor for national affairs.
