The 76th GFWC Annual Convention was held in San Francisco, 4-8 June 1967. Following the convention, GFWC sponsored an "Adventure Tour 'Round the Pacific and Orient" in conjunction with conferences for clubwomen in Sydney, Australia, and Manila, Phillippines. The tour stopped in Hawaii for several days to visit the Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor and the National Memorial Cemetery in Honolulu, where they laid a wreath on the grave of war correspondent Ernie Pyle. After a stopover in Tahiti, the group continued to Auckland, New Zealand,and then on to Australia. A pre-conference program was held in Melbourne, June 21-23, and in Canberra, June 23.
