Dorothy served as Wisconsin state president, 1986-1988. She first became involved in the Woman's Club of South Milwaukee and held a variety of leadership positions: Dinner Dance chairman, secretary, vice president, and president. She served as treasurer of the Wisconsin fourth district and district president. On a national level, Dorothy served as GFWC health chairman, 1988-1990; GFWC membership chairman, 1990-1992; and on the bylaws committee, 1990-1992. She was also chairman of the GFWC Great Lakes meeting in Wisconsin, 1988-1990. Important term projects included working with the mentally disabled and leadership development.
