Elizabeth Miller oral history, conducted by Shirley Richard on 12 November 1992 in Norridgewock, Maine. Elizabeth was a member of the Norridgewock Village Women's Club.
The Clark sisters referred to in this tape were both authors. Rebecca, known as "Sophie May," was one of the first female authors of children's books in the country. She was also a founding member of the Norridgewock Village Improvement Society. She donated a building to the town that is still in use today as the public library. The club maintains the building and uses it for meetings. News articles about Rebecca Clark and the history of the Norridgewock Village Improvement Society are included with the audiotape.
